Major Concepts:
A successful business is involved in numerous financial activities. Summary reports and record keeping are needed to make good business decisions. The Accounting course is taught on the premise that the student will be able to understand the basic accounting procedure for a proprietorship as a service business and a partnership as a merchandising business as well as be employable in the accounting field.
Content:
The content shall include but is not limited to the following:
· Student will be able to identify careers in the accounting field
· Student will be able to walk through the accounting procedure for a service business organized as a proprietorship
· Student will be able to walk through the accounting procedure for a merchandising business organized as a partnership
· Student will be able to apply concepts to real world examples done through simulations
Intended Outcomes:
After successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:
· Be employable on the first rung of the accounting ladder
· Gain college credit through the Tech Prep program
· Better able to manage personal finances
· Compete in the accounting subject area with BPA

Assignments—70%
Tests and Quizzes—30%
Attendance—10% of your semester grade
I strongly believe in attending school on a regular basis. So, you do earn a grade for your attendance for the semester. That grade is based on the following absences:

3-4 B
5 C
6 D
7+ F
Class rules and expectations are to be met at all times. If a student deviates from proper procedure, regular discipline action will be taken.
