Major Concepts:
The major purpose of the course is to provide students with
a more advanced understanding of the function and use of computers. Students will be expected to create real
world multimedia projects like making Web pages for the School Website and City
of Melba Website.
This course will help students with future college level courses and
prepare them for using computers and the Internet in our modern 21st
Century Information Age.
Content:
The content shall include but not limited to the following:
- Students
will be able to use computer programs at a more advanced level.
- Students
will be able to read and research on the Internet
- Students
will be able to write Web pages on the Internet.
- Students
will become Web-reports and write real content on the Web.
Special Note:
Students will be expected to follow the districts policies
on computer use and have their parents/guardians approve the district computer
use agreement form.
Intended Outcomes:
After successfully
completing this course, the student will be able to:
- Take higher level classes on the college
level
- Do Web reporting and work as a team member
in creating real Websites by editing and maintaining teacher,
sports, and club information linked from the school Website.
- Do Internet research and reading for
other classes
- Write presentations and Web page
projects for other classes.
- Feel more confident in using computers
in school and in our modern world.
