Course preview

The course emphasis will be on the importance of lifetime physical fitness, leisure time activities and sportsmanship. Activities will focus on court and field sports as well as other lifetime sports. The class will include an emphasis on rules and regulations, performance, and sportsmanship.

Unit Breakdown & Grading

Units will vary in length, but will grade the same way. Each unit will be accompanied with an exit quiz of your knowledge about the rules, regulations, and fundamentals of the activity or sport.

Grading will come from 3 areas:

Quizzes 10%

Performance Tests 10%

Daily Points 80%

1) Quiz questions will come from the Rules and History handouts on each activity and your

instructor’s presentation on how to play. (10%)

2) You will have to demonstrate a basic skill level that can be obtained from the actual contact time

that you will have in the unit. (10%)

3) Attendance, Participation and Sportsmanship will account for the remaining (80%).

You will be required to follow the school guidelines on tardies and absences. You will get zero points for the day if you are absent for any reason. This will add up quickly, so don’t miss my class. Fitness vouchers may be used to earn points back from any absence.
