Major Concept:
Fitness – Physical activity as well as knowledge and documentation (body composition, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance and cardiovascular endurance)
Students will participate in a variety of fitness activities and record their performance
Content:
The content shall include but not limited to the following:
· Running Aerobics
· Fitness Testing Muscle Testing
· Pilates Stretching
· Lifting Weights Tae Bo
· Body Fat Measurements Circuit Training
· Martial Arts
Special Note:
Intended Outcome:
After successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:
· Understand how to demonstrate healthy fitness habits
· Develop an appreciation for healthy fitness levels and the hard work they require
Grading:
Students will be based on a daily six-point rubric:

On time, dressed for class, does all activities with a positive attitude and is respectful of self, others and equipment |

Most of the qualities of a 6, but may be late or has a bit of a poor attitude |

Most of the qualities of a 6, but has a couple of mishaps, late, or not the correct dress for class, disrespectful or doesn’t do all of the class activities |

Doesn’t dress for class, but still participates |

Shows up for class, but does not participate. This student will be asked to do some sort of work. (sweeping, cleaning, etc.) |
