Major Concepts:
We will be studying World History from a Western
Civilization perspective. The areas to
be covered include: Early Civilizations,
Greeks and Romans, Middle Ages, Renaissance and Reformation, Scientific Age, Age of Revolutions.
Content:
- Course
activities will include: Reading from text and
answering questions, daily notes, group work, projects, videos, and
writing essays.
- Grades
are calculated on a point system.
Students need to stay current.
It is possible to get so far behind it is impossible to catch up.
- If
work is late or incomplete students will lose points. This will cause their grade to be
lower. All work must be legible or
it will not be accepted.
Intended Outcomes:
- Master
a broad range of historical knowledge
- Demonstrate
an understanding of historical chronology.
- Use
critical thinking skills: Analyze,
interpret, evaluate, compare and contrast, cause and effect.
- Recognize
and understand bias and propaganda.
- Utilize
graphs, pictures, cartoons, and maps to produce original thought.

historical data to support a position in a written essay.
