TRiO - Educational Opportunity for Low-Income and Disabled Americans.
ETS - Educational Talent Seach
Trio is an organization dedicated to helping all of the students interested in college. It is free of charge, and all you have to do is be a student wanting to go to college. They will give all 11th and 12th graders the help they need. They will help you with admissions information, college cisitations, course requirements, pre-college testing (ACT, SAT, Compass), scholarship information, financial aid application processing, cereer information tutoring. All 10th and 9th graders that are members will be provided with the career information, career fieldtrips, college visits, general college information, college fair attendance, and career fair attendance.
Eduactional Talent Seach is a federally founded program sponsered by Sergeant Shriver and was one of President Johnson's Great Society measures. The program has been funded since 1965 nationwide and has been in the Treasure Valley since 1974. ETS's services cover academic preparation, skill building, career information, job shadowing, pre-college information, turoring referrals, college visits, bi-monthly newsletter, college fairs, career fairs, and cultural events.
GOAL -
The goals of ETS are retention in and graduation from a secondary school, and enrollment in a post-secondary school. A positive placement in post secondary education includes college, university, technical, or proprietary school.
