Sketchup Project: Middle School

For this project, you'll be making a food stand. My example is a corn dog stand, but yours can sell any kind of food you want.

Scene View 1

This picture shows an overview of the scene.

Scene View 2

This shows the scene from the opposite angle, giving a better view of the biker in front.

Side View

Notice that the sign sticks up from the stand, it's not just a simple box.

Text Detail

The sign text is 3-D as well. I didn't make this by hand -- there's a tool for it. Look under the Tools menu, click on 3-D Text.

Cutaway View: Interior

This is a cutaway view of the inside of the stand. My stand has a back, I just used a special tool to see through it for this picture. Notice that all the walls and floor have some thickness to them, they're not just flat rectangles.

What you have to do

• Make a concession stand
• Make sure that it is sized realistically -- not too big, not too small
• Add a sign to it with 3-D text
• Give it a counter that sticks out
• Give it a window where people can order
• Give it a door where the employees can get in and out
• -- and a doorknob to open the door with
• Add some people from 3-D Warehouse
• Color the stand appropriately from Window->Materials
• Save the finished product in your Documents folder as "Food Stand"
